Inguinal herniography with positive contrast medium is an useful method to evaluate patient processes vaginalis, hernias, communicating hydrocele and undescended testis. The examination is easy to perform and interpret, and reasonably safe with high accuracy.
Forty cases of inguinal hernia were investigated by herniography, of which 37 cases were operated on. Among 40 cases 50% had, bilateral open peritoneal,sac with 11 cases of hydrocele and 3 cryptorchism. The accuracy of the examination was 97.3% only one case showing discrepancy with the surgical findings. Complication was negligible except one case of unusual severe morbidity.
